Long ago, the raw elements of Earth manifested their own consciousnesses and took on the forms of ethereal entities. These entities were known as the elemental soules, each of whom held domain over their one of the ten elements. For a long time things were peaceful for these entities until the coming of man; a consciousness more powerful than they drove them into hiding, consequently in the humans themselves.
