Long ago the planet Earth was protected by ten very special beings and this group of entities personified the ten terrestrial elements…

All was pretty much peaceful within the rural, savage world that these entities existed in until the rise of humanity.

Upon the domination of the world by mankind's brutal hands, these entities went into hiding, consequently within the bodies of these savage creatures in a seemingly futile attempt to understand them. It was then that the concept of names was developed, and each entity became essentially divided by a name they were given, and collectively were called “elemental soules”.

The word “soule” defined them and yet did not explain what they were. Ghost, specter, spirit, otherworldly entity? The weight of being given names isolated them, breaking their bonds between each other; the power of nature began to dwindle.

The days of the primitive world had ended and it was then that in every generation, a human stillborn infant would be given life and born with an elemental soule within his or her body, called fourth by an mysterious beacon.

They who were possessed by a soule were blessed with special gifts associated with their soules' element, but were also condemned to an unfulfilled life of tragedy and a short life-span. Every human who was host to an elemental soule faced these hardships, every elemental soule endured much pain and suffering, in an effort for them to understand...

What is it to be human? What is the power of a name?

So far, none have come with any definitive answer for this question, save perhaps the most impetuous of the ten elemental soules...

Arc I - Darkness

In present day San Francisco a mysterious accident caused the premature awakening of the soule of darkness, Shadow, causing adverse affects on both itself and its host's mind. The end result caused its host, a young man named Muku Kanakia, to display the traits of multiple personality disorder, consisting of the egos of his human self the soule within him.

Now, insane and unrestrained, the elemental soule of darkness has judged humanity as plague and thus seeks out to wipe out the "human infestation" through the complete eradication of the species. But of course, Shadow could not do this alone and through much time and effort, he selected a duo of specially chosen misfits who he bestowed artificial copies of the last four elements of ice, metal, wood, and lightning.

Together, these three are slowly taking their stand within the bay area, while staying within hiding on the now closed Alcatraz Island. Fortunately, five of the remaining elemental soules were relocated from their homelands within the same vicinity as the soule of darkness. Each one now must awaken their soules to stop Shadows plan.
