Submission Prerequisites

The RPG Nexus founds its roots in the days of PbeM. As other methods developed some of the “oldbies” refused to use some of these new methods of play and instead set their own standard. The RPG Nexus community recognizes role plays that include:

  • A clean, well thought out website layout
  • Well written text, written plainly for everyone to understand
  • An easy-to-use navigation
  • Critical judgment of new applications and writing
  • Dedication to quality and set standards of writing, grammar, and spelling
  • Willingness to contribute to the progress of the story and development of characters

What we do not accept are:

  • Role-plays and website layouts that offer no aesthetic value
  • Use of Proboards, Invisionfree, LiveJournal, Yahoo! Groups,or other services that may represent the game instead of an ACTUAL website
  • Stephanie Meyer’s “Twilight” and any based-on material; enough said
  • Ad-Supported websites
  • Inactive role-plays
  • Websites with loads of grammatical and spelling errors

RPG Nexus recognized the following methods of play:

  • Play By Email (PbeM)
  • MB (Message Board)
  • GD (Google Docs/Writely)
  • Script (ex: eFiction)

Depending on its use other methods may be accepted.

Acceptable Website Scripts (all un-advertised):

Examples of acceptable role plays:

  • A Twist of Fate (http://bottletherain.po.gs/atwistoffate/)
This is a message board role play that uses proboards as its method; however, the RPG is represented by its website, not its message board.
  • Legend of the Moonlight (http://moonlightlegend.byethost11.com)
Another message board role play which uses PHPbb. Again, while the message board is installed on their own account and not a free third party service, their website represents them, not the board.
  • Gepieglte Marchen (http://gesma.lotus-eater.org)
An example much like LoM except the quality of the site is much greater.
