First of all, you need to make sure you have read all of the necessary reading on the website—which is namely everything. The second thing to do is go over as many of the articles on the wiki as you can as this will allow you to understand the theme, setting, and culture in Oppositio Solidus. We also suggest that you review some of the accepted applications on the cast page and skim through them, to get an idea of what we are looking for.
After that, head down to the applications page and download a copy of the application. Don’t forget to read all of the footnotes I have! The notes on the join page and at the bottom of the application are there to help you. Take your time with the character and make sure every section is filled. Do lots of research, not just from the articles on the wiki but from books and credible web articles as well. If you could list them in the miscellaneous area it may also help others as a resource.
After a proofread or two, go to the forum located here. You will then have to read over the read me topic in the forum, which includes the rules of submissions as well as instructions on how to apply there. After you have submitted it just sit back, chill, and wait for the verdict. Remember, if you need any help, just go to the forums.
Do I need to play the video game before applying?
While it is not necessary to play the game it is suggested that you do play it since it is fun, interesting, and may help you in applying for this story-writing community. You can download an emulator, the game, and even a walkthrough at this site. The estimated amount game-play for finishing the game is around six hours or so depending on how long you take to finish battles and how many times you die. Remember to save a lot too!
Reviewing Your Application:
First and foremost the review process starts with YOU. If you did everything that was outlined on the join page we should be able to go onto the next step. For example, if you submit the application to us in the wrong format, via e-mail, or any other nonsense we specifically explained not to do on the application and the website, this will terminate you from considering immediately. After you have jumped that first hurdle, the GM and SiC will look over your application. For now, there is no third party however we do plan on getting one soon.
The GM and SiC will then write their own review on the boards, located on a private forum that only moderators can see. They will point out things they liked about the application, things that they did not like, and concerns that thy may have for the character. There may even be a discussion included on the review as well. When the review is complete, the GM will copy down all the information and put it onto a .txt document. The document will be updated with the website on the results page and you will be sent, via e-mail, your final verdict.
You are not to reply to this e-mail. If you have any questions or comments about it, feel free to do so on the forum. Failure to comply will result in blacklisting, temporary ban, or scrapping of your application.
